This review aims to present to the modern reader a critical and reflective view of one of the little-addressed texts in Bakhtin Circle studies. “Contemporary vitalism”, written in the 1920s, is the result of one of Mikhail Bakhtin's countless intellectual partnerships, which still impress today with the sagacity and intellectual strength of its authors. A review that aims to present to the Bakhtinian scholar yet another impeccable intellectual production by the thinkers of the Bakhtin Circle.
