Abstract

This chapter deals with the analysis of a text of social circulation, based on a report on the indigenous issue in Mato Grosso do Sul. It is based on the hypothesis that the mentioned speech can perform persuasive functions in written texts, even with the assumption of use of impartiality. As the journalistic statement comprises the different voices on a given theme, the main objective is to analyze the use of the mentioned speech and the effects of meanings that this linguistic resource can produce in the interlocutor / reader. The theoretical perspective is based on the enunciative perspective from the perspective of Bakhtin (2003, 2004). The corpus of the study deals with a report, published in the online newspaper Midiamax, from Campo Grande-MS, in the period between 2014 and 2018. The results show that these linguistic-discursive resources reason the making of journalistic narrative and can function as an alibi for the announcer / reporter to say / write what he says / writes as a simulacrum of truth in the journalistic narrative.
