EDUCATION AND GENDER IN THE POPULIST NARRATIVE: THE PERIOD FROM 2018 TO 2022 IN BRAZIL

The populist and ultranationalist discourse in Brazil, between 2018 and 2022, is analyzed in this article from the perspective of gender and education. Pronouncements of the former president and the implications for gender relations involving relations between social subjects and educational public policies were analyzed, based on the National Common Curricular Base. As a methodological approach, it used the analysis of narratives, theoretical references and official documents. Somehow, there was an effort by teachers and students to maintain the secular character of educational institutions, aiming at inclusion and reception, since this was left aside due to a neoliberalist discourse, which aims to remove the transforming potential of society through education with citizenship formation. Although the smokescreen produced by the extreme right wants to overshadow minority groups within education, the fight is waged against the imposition of an education in traditionalist molds, we continue the fight for our voice to reverberate, to clear up misconceptions and build opportunities aiming at new educational paths, so that the school stage of human diversity walks free, democratic and secular.
