In this article, we report on didactic-pedagogical experiences of tutors in an online Portuguese as a foreign language (PLE) course during the COVID-19 pandemic. Relevant issues met during lesson planning and the teaching process are discussed, among which the students’ attendance and participation in the lessons, and assessment tools, are mentioned. Examples of teaching materials and technical resources used by course tutors are presented, as well as suggestions of activities carried out with the students, in the online lessons to work on issues of grammar and vocabulary. Furthermore, we present reflections of the course tutors about contributions of their experience in teaching PLE in an online course, offered in remote format due to an emergency situation, for their development as language teachers.
