Abstract

This text presents an interview granted by professor and researcher Rildo Cosson especially for the dossier “Teaching, Language(s), and Literacies: Studies, Research, and Practices at the Confluences of Education.” Conducted through questionnaires, a format chosen according to the interviewee’s preference, the interview addresses key aspects of literary literacy, its connections with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), and multiliteracies, as well as reflecting on the challenges and possibilities of teaching literature in Brazilian public schools. Cosson’s responses offer important contributions to the debate on the role of literature in forming critical readers and strengthening teaching committed to social transformation.
